Mysto the Magi began his performing career at the age of twelve as “Mitch the Magician” when he performed for the daughter of a local policeman in his hometown of Lexington, Massachusetts. The little girl got so excited by Mysto’s performance that she had an asthma attack and had to be given oxygen. After that experience Mysto decided “I must be good!” He quickly became one of the most popular children’s magicians in the area and at the age of fourteen performed a benefit show for the Cancer Society where he first performed on a real stage at the middle school for over 300 people. He floated a girl from the audience.
While most of his classmates in college were flipping burgers, Mysto performed street magic, birthday shows and nightclubs in and around Austin, Texas. After graduation he “hit the road” with his show performing at Street Fairs and Renaissance Festivals.
In 1990 he returned to compete in the Texas Association of Magicians Convention in Dallas where he won both Best Stage Magician and Best Close up Magician. Mysto is the only magician to ever win both awards in the same year.
Since then, Mysto has performed almost every style of magic in almost every venue imaginable. From humble birthday, school and library shows, to restaurants, nightclubs, corporate banquets, music and arts festivals, magic conventions, to Hollywood movies, commercials, theaters, and performing arts centers.
His newest show Mysto’s Magic Spectacular takes all his experience and expertise to bring you the very best show he has ever created. Along with veteran performers Michael “the catch it quick” Juggler, dancers Talia Bamerick and Erica Golightly they have created a tour de force ensemble that brings out the talents of every player. This show is not just magic, but includes magical plays, excellent dancing, aerial performance, glow poi spinning, juggling, clowning, stage illusions and is just basically a whole lot of fun for everyone involved, especially the audience.
This show has successfully been performed for all adult audiences as well as mixed family audiences. While most performances have been in theaters seating 200-300 people it has been successfully done for a packed house of 800 people.
“We have already hired Mysto’s Magic Spectacular back for next year!”
